Faculty partnerships are at the heart of everything we do.
Partner With UsHere are just some of the ways we work with faculty to bring their ideas to life.
Faculty Advisory Committee
A platform for constructive dialogue, innovation, and collaboration on technology-enhanced instructional practices at Penn State.
Active Learning
Settings that allow students to participate in the learning process have been proven by research to improve learning outcomes. To help make those environments possible at Penn State, we provide workshops, classroom visits, and podcasts to support faculty who want to incorporate active learning.
BlendLT
Blended learning occurs in courses that are delivered in face-to-face and online formats. This model helps to break down the barriers of traditional teaching and learning and makes it possible to tailor the learning experience for each student. Our BlendLT program is fully supported, cohort-based effort that helps faculty redesign and deliver blended courses.
Open Educational Resources
Reduces the overall expenses of higher education, and for this reason we promote and support faculty involvement in the development of this major initiative. OERs provide educational materials that are available to the University community with little to no cost. This effort allows faculty and staff to legally and freely copy, use, adapt and re-share them within the University community.
Faculty spotlight: Susan Russell
Helping students develop better listening, reflecting, and decision-making skills, and helping medical students improve communication techniques with patients — these are two objectives theater professor Susan Russell has for her 2017-18 joint TLT Faculty Fellows and C-PAD project.
“The intention of this project will be to consistently open dialogues about diversity and inclusion inside and outside of the classroom through personal storytelling.”
You just have to be open to new things, ready to change your workflow and ready to change your technologies. You also need to be ready to fail, and learn from those failures. You only really learn about these technologies by using them in the flow of your scholarship and your teaching.
