Writing a Teaching With Technology Philosophy

Back to Portfolio Phase 2 | Back to Portfolio Rubric

Your philosophy should be a personal reflection of how you view the teaching process. This can be a formal essay or an informal reflection of your experiences as a student or a teacher.

Your statement can focus on some of these questions.

Beliefs about learning

  1. How do you define effective learning or teaching?
  2. What do you think are the best ways to teach?
  3. Why do you have these beliefs?
  4. What are the most important parts of your discipline to convey to students? How does your teaching philosophy tie into this?

Although you may modify your philosophy as you progress toward a certificate, you may want to keep early versions of your philosophy and make them part of your portfolio.
