Dynamic Page technologies allow you to insert chunks of repetitive HTML code from different sources. For instance this page uses server side includes to insert a consistent header and footer on each page. With dynamic pages you can implement some accessibility options, such as a skip navigation strategy for navigational menus or consistent ALT tags for header frames.
Unlike other Web tools, dynamic pages typically involve configuration of the Web server and would require input from a programmer or network administrator before implementing.
Server Side Includes are relatively easy to implement. Some documentation is available at:
HTML Code generated by dynamic pages must be accessible HTML code.
If a Web tool allows users to upload images, it should also allow them to designate an ALT tag.
Many Web tools such as blog tools may create a series of links with generic text (e.g. Read More).
Users in a content management system using dynamic pages are limited in what kinds of accessibility options they can implement.
