Step 3 - Encode

Once your media is available as a computer file you need to encode it. Encoding converts your file into a format that can be streamed by our servers.

To properly stream from our servers, encoded files need to conform to a variety of encoding specifications. Whether you encode your digital media or have it done by a service provider, please be sure it meets these specifications.

You can encode your digital media on any computer that has encoding software installed. Media Cleaner Pro is an encoding application available in the CLC computer labs as well as the Faculty Multimedia Center (FMC).
