The University has recently purchased a new tool that will assist faculty, staff and unit IT professionals in finding and removing legacy personally identifiable information. It is critical that all such data be located and removed from systems where it does not belong. Alternately, if there is a business need for use and storage of SSN's, for example, an AD19 Policy exception can be sought, with special attention to the security needs of the system and network. The presenters will describe the new software, Identity Finder, and both its use and limitations. The software does have both Windows and Macintosh clients.
