Senior Director

As Senior Director of TLT, Dr. Crystal Ramsay ensures the University is well positioned to effectively incorporate technology into its teaching and learning efforts. She advances TLT’s role in the University’s strategic vision of providing students a world class education by leveraging TLT’s expertise and services in research and data-informed decision-making; instructional design and faculty support; modernized learning spaces; and creative learning initiatives.

Ramsay also serves as associate director of the Center for Pedagogy in Arts and Design in the College of Arts and Architecture. She is an affiliate faculty member in educational psychology at Penn State as well as a member of the Graduate Faculty.

She has spent her career as a professional educator: as a middle and high school educator in Pennsylvania public schools; program director at the Princeton Center for Leadership Training (now the Center for Supportive Schools); instructional consultant at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence; and assistant and interim director of TLT. She has taught first year seminars, undergraduate courses in educational psychology, and graduate courses in higher education.

Ramsay received her Ph.D. and master’s degree in educational psychology from Penn State. She also holds both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in curriculum and instruction.

Our vision is to be a leader in the creation, implementation, assessment, and promotion of excellence in teaching and learning with technology.
