Daily Buzz Podcast: Interview with Jim Groom
Jim Groom, instructional technologist and adjunct professor at the University of Mary Washington, visited Penn State Sept. 20 and took time from his busy schedule during the visit to sit down for a podcast. A dynamic and thoughtful interview, Jim is known for thinking outside the box, shaking things up, and getting people to view technology's role in education under a different light.
At Mary Washington, Jim has help to create an innovative new blogging platform, and created an open online digital storytelling class, DS106, that is so unique it's difficult to explain. So, we are going to let Jim do that. He sat down with Jamie Oberdick, editor of the Daily Buzz, for an interview where he talks about why the unconventional should be the conventional in education, some of the cool and effective uses for blogging in education at Mary Washington, and just what it's like to take DS106 (including what it's like to teach a class while in disguise).
