TLT Symposium Call for Proposals: Share your educational technology genius with your peers
The 2010 Penn State Symposium on Teaching and Learning with Technology will be held Saturday March 27, 2010 at the Penn State Conference Center Hotel, University Park.
The event will feature a keynote address by Dr. Michael Wesch, assistant professor of cultural anthropology at Kansas State University. It will also feature State faculty members sharing innovative uses of learning technology – which could potentially include you.The Call for Proposals for the 2010 Symposium has a deadline of October 30, 2009. This is an opportunity for Penn State faculty to share what works in technology designed to enhance teaching, learning, and research. This could include the use of electronic portfolios and blogs; the incorporation of digital media; the use of games, virtual worlds, and simulations; innovative and engaging practice in large enrollment courses; and any best practices that foster scholarship in the digital age.
“We are looking for sessions that discuss practical aspects of educational technology, such as types of things used, support sources, what worked, how the practices were developed, and how these technologies can be transferred to other disciplines,” said Jeff Swain, Symposium chair. “If you have had a great experience using educational technology, we would love for you to submit a proposal so others can hear about it.”
Swain added that sessions can be in a variety of formats, such as single-presenter, group presentations, panel discussions, poster presentations, demonstrations, small group discussion, and others.
The October 30 deadline is fast approaching, so to learn more about the Symposium and to submit a proposal via a simple online submission form, please go to http://symposium.tlt.psu.edu.
