Georgia leads the U.S. in education technology

"Education Week's annual "Technology Counts" report gave Georgia the highest score when it comes to the use of technology in the classroom and building capacity for the use of technology."

 

Pennsylvania received a B-, slightly below the national average. What should Pennsylvania do to improve this score?

PA is on a much better track than a few years ago. The classrooms for the future initiative is beginning to take hold and we are seeing real change happen. I didn't read the full article you link to, but I wonder what the metrics are to establish GA as the tops in the nation. I did see they were providing greater access to digital content -- what I wonder is if there curricular changes that support the access? Changes such as handing out machines and putting more technologies in the backs of classrooms do not change learning ... only when things are aligned do you see real change -- teacher professional development, pedagogical shifts, and administrative support all have to be strategically aligned for it to work. I'm not thrilled with a B-, but I am betting this will go up.
