Tentative Learning Design Summer Camp 2009 agenda now available

Agenda for Learning Design Summer Camp posted to event wiki, plus information on how you can register AND help plan this great (and free) educational technology event.

The Learning Design Summer Camp (LDSC) 2009, to be held July 21-22 at Foster Auditorium in Pattee Library, has just released its agenda for both days of the event. Agenda subjects include adoption of disruptive technologies, digital scholarship, educational gaming, how to make the most of resources in learning design, the future of higher education, and more.

The LDSC is an "unconference," a participant-driven event centered around a theme or purpose. The attendees do most of the planning. For the LDSC, planning is open to anyone interested via the Learning Design Summer Camp 2009 wiki page. At this page, you can sign up to volunteer, find out when the next meeting will be, get event updates, and even offer suggestions/ideas.

You can also register for the event at the wiki page. The registration is simple (and, it's free):

- Go to the Learning Design Summer Camp 2009 wiki page, then log on via the link on the top right of the wiki page using your Penn State Access Account user ID and password.

- Scroll down and click the "edit" button.

- Enter your name and contact information, and you are registered.

So far, as of this article's posting, 60 people have registered. Space is limited to 110 people and slots are filling fast, so be sure to register soon.

Allan Gyorke, assistant director of Education Technology Services, said that last year's inaugural LDSC was a huge success, and noted events like this are often very well-received and effective due to all the participant's input. "It's the 'people's learning design event'," Gyorke said.
