BuzzLion for Week of April 12

Special Symposium edition....

The BuzzLion is buzzing about the 2009 Penn State Symposium for Teaching and Learning this week. Preparation and anticipation abounds this week all around Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), and the finishing touches are being put in place as this is being written. So, with that in mind, this week's BuzzLion will focus solely on the Symposium.

We start off with Jeff Swain, Symposium coordinator, who posted this week to the Symposium Web site a link to the final in a series of Symposium videos. Check it out - it will alter your perception of what it means to be literate.

Jeff also offers some ideas on the Symposium site for final preparation for Symposium. This includes key times, what to tag Symposium-related content, and he also advises you might be "flipped." You will have to go to the link to find out just what that means.

Allan Gyorke, Education Technology Services (ETS) assistant director, announced a cool new little widget for the Symposium Web site. You can check it out here

Cole Camplese, ETS director, offers his Symposium thoughts in a blog post, including what to expect and how the event has grown.

Let's close this week with something fun on a really nice spring day, provided to us by Pat Besong, ETS multimedia manager. Pat did a cartoon for a genetics course on how DNA fingerprinting is used to investigate a crime scene. And, if you are a CSI fan (or even not a fan), you will have double reason to click on this link

That's all for this week. See you at the Symposium!
