Educating for Sustainability will energize faculty, staff, students and administrators to infuse environmental sustainability into the curriculum, and thereby broaden Penn State's capacity to address significant challenges related to energy and the environment. Because these challenges will require assessing ethical consequences and communicating effectively with the public and policy makers, as well as competencies for conducting scientific research and creating successful design solutions, this conference will be relevant to a broad audience.

Educating for Sustainability is open to Penn State faculty, staff, students and administrators at no charge; however, space is limited and advanced registration is required.

Travel support is available for those attending from commonwealth campuses. For more information, contact Deidre Yingling at deidre@psu.edu.

This 4th Schreyer National Conference is being convened by the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence, the Schreyer Honors College, the Center for Sustainability at Penn State, and the Rock Ethics Institute.

Co-sponsors are the College of Agricultural Sciences, the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Health and Human Development, Dickinson School of Law, the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses, Penn State’s Campus Sustainability Office, Penn State Outreach, School of International Affairs, and the Smeal College of Business.

Corporate support has been provided by Shell and Matson Biofuels, Inc.
